Form 5 is a collective of five like-minded, intelligent, inspired practices keen to drive the design aspirations set out by leaders in the educational sector, including CABE, the Sorrell Foundation, BCSE, PfS and the DCFS; in touch with a wide, varied network of industry leaders and championed by leading educational architect Paul Monaghan (Allford Hall Monaghan Morris).

Our triple motivation is to promote design excellence in the education sector; act as “agitator” to highlight the untapped potential of small practices in this area; and find ways for small practices to contribute directly to school design and procurement. As a collective, our power comes from knowledge sharing and networking: pooling individual practices’ knowledge base, experience and contacts to become a well connected and highly informed specialist collective. Our strategy is to fully engage with all current educational procurement activities as a sharing network. These range from in-house seminars, workshops and hosted debates; to attendance at key industry events; working with contractors, educationalists, teachers’ programmes; hosting and attending workshops, charettes and design days; and continuing conversation and peer review both within and outside the collective.
